I do not have time to write the blog….

But you have to do it ….

Day 6 Thursday

We were in London again. This time we were there in Madame Tussad which is a house with wax figures. I liked most the different departments with the figures of famous people. Then we ate Pizza. Afterwards we went to London’s Dungeon, which is a kind of gigantic ghost train about the dark history of London. We then split us up. Some went shopping and others had ice cream and I petted my squirrels again in St. James Park.

Because of their first trip to London the boys decited to stay in the Nursery. What they are doing there? They are digging a very big hole. Why? Because it is more fun then playing on your phone and much better than going to a Megacity – Erdkinder!

At five a clock on this day the boys told me that they are hungry. So we tried to find out what you can do as a boy when you are hungry and there is no Mami (or cooking group) around you. The solution? They make their own dinner (maybe this was the starting point of their nightfoodsessions). Great job boys!

Friday

We stayed at the caravans to take a break. A pair of us went shopping and the rest of us just chilled in their rooms. We put all together the food in the kitchen and sorted it. Afterwards, Saskia, Melissa, Sophie, Inga and I go for a walk. While this, Maël was cuting Jannis‘ hair and all I can say is that it takes some getting used to. For dinner we had the rests of the last days and sausages , vegetarian and with meat. We didn’t do not so much because everyone was tired.

AddOn by Flo: It is interesting to read that that was the first day they chilled. Because Saskia and me had the feeling that they are chilling the most time – how different the cognitions could be. For example: would you say it looks cleaned up on the picture?

Saturday

Today we had the plan to watch a rugby game. We were for Northampton Saints and they won the game. It was very exciting but to the end a little bit boring. For dinner we eat toast. And then we go to bed.

You have to write your reports before we can go shopping (no pressure – only a requirement of the driver).

So here they are:

Sunday

We left school at 6 am. By 1 pm we were at the border with england. Then we took the ferry to england. We arrived in Nobottle Nursery at 6 pm. In total we drove 13 hours When we arrived we chose our rooms and cleaned umpacket out our clothes.

Written by Melina

Additional from Flo: It was the first time for me, that we arrived here and everything works. We paid Dartford Crossing (Tinas account does it), the water is warm in every caravan (thanks the plumber), it was warm in the caravans (thanks to God) and everything is cleaned well (thanks to Judy).

That was crazy!

Monday:

We stayed at Nobottle Nursery to settle in a bit and go shopping because we didn’t have anything to eat. When we came back from shopping, Melina, Charlotte, Lilly and Inga made a one pot lasagna that ended up tasting like a cinder block because the bottom was completely burnt. After cooking I played Uno and football with Saskia. In the evening we ate dinner and played a few games.

Additional from Flo: What a luck: there is still something to do. Kevin repaired a drawer, we repaired the waterheater in the kitchen (after two useless YouTube videos we pushed a little black button and it works 🙄) and Judy checked the wastetank and regognized that it is full until the top. So it started to get normal (and interesting).

Tuesday

Additional by Flo: In the evening we drove to the airport to bring Kevin to his flight home. While I have to check the permission for his flight with him the boys want to have a walk around europs biggest airport.

After a while I see the boys crossing my way followed by three policeofficers. There faces lookes like: Oh no, we go to prison, what have we done, will we see our Mamis again 😂.

When I arrived them one of the policeman asked me very unfriendly what we have to do on the airport, why we are in England and so on. After I explained our trip, they where very friendly and tell us, that there are a lot of criminal gangs of youth around and they thought our boys are such a gang – funny when you know the little gangsters (Janis, Lukas, Mika, Pepe, Maël).

On the way home Maël to Pepe: Thank you for rescue us with your Englisch.

Wendsday september 13.

We drove away at 9 o clock with the train to London. At first we drove with the underground to Buckingham Palace. After this we went to a park and there were so many skrirrels and pigeons and Maël caught one. Then we we went the elisabethtower. At the half past twelve we walk to the London Eye and the River Thames. From there we drove to a food market named Borough Market. Now we were tired so we did not want to walk any more .So we went to underground station next to Towerbridge. At 6pm we were at home. Dinner was noodles with cream sauce .

Additional by Flo: This trip to London feels like a trip with my family ten years ago. In the morning some boys stand up at 8:55 to leave at 9am (of course without breakfast). In the park the squirrels and pigeons are more interesting than the Buckingham Palace and after two hours they starts with: I am thirsty, I am hungry (suprising wirhout breakfast), I have to go to the toilet, do we have to go over the bridge- I see it from here, when do we drive home…

Saskias an me have to say: stay with the group, look for the cars, stay – it is red. So we feel more than kindergardener then teachers 🙄

We leave London at 4pm. As soon as never before with a group. In the nursery the boys starts to hammer stones and be very happy with it.

The project can be soooooo different 😎

Day twelve

Fr 12.05 Cleaning day

We started our day at 8 o’clock am with breakfast. After breakfast we went shopping for our trip home. When we finished shopping, we wrote our blog for the last few days. Then we had a nice lunch with oven potatoes and dips. In the afternoon we started packing and had a bit of time off before we started with the feedback round. After the feedback round we made our dinner and food for our lunchboxes for the next day. And then we all cleaned the communal areas before playing hide and seek a last time or having a last walk together. Then we all went to bed.

Day seven to eleven

Day seven
Today we all got up a little earlier than usual and had breakfast at 7:45am. After that we went to the flea market and when we arrived we were allowed to explore the carboot sale in pairs or more and bought things or just looked around. After that we went to Warwick Castle. After that we were first checked to see if we had any sharp objects with us, such as a pocket knifes. After we went through the control, we went into a labyrinth in groups, after we found our way out of the labyrinth we went on to see the castle.
After we found our way out of the labyrinth, we went on to see the castle and the water mill, and then we came to a show where birds of prey flew around a woman and into the audience. That was mega cool and breathtaking. Then we went to the courtyard of the castle, where the scene of the first Harry Potter movie was filmed where they learnd to fly. Then we sat on the walls and looked at the view which looked very breathtaking and beautiful. Then we went to a shop where you could buy souvenirs. They where very expensive and so we didn’t buy anything. After that we all met on the meadow and discussed what we could do now. One group went to the dungeon and the other stayed at the meadow and enjoyed the sun. It was very warm and hot. After we all met again around 45 minutes, later we went home. Susi and others ordered fish and chips and that was the ans off the evening.

Day eight
We decided as a group to take a rest day on Monday,
because we have experienced a lot during the last week
We could all sleep in today. Everyone then came for breakfast when they felt like it .
Then around lunch time we continued watching Harry Potter . After Harry Potter some people played outside.
And then, Susi offered us to cook something delicious for dinner.
What did Susi cook?
Shephards pie
It was very, very tasty.
After dinner we have discussed together, as a group, what is coming up this week.
We actually wanted
to WATCH
Harry Potter AFTER the meeting but we then DIDN’T because…. we have to be here tomorrow morning at 6:30 am at breakfast.
This was our eighth day .

Day nine

On Tuesday we took the train to London at 9:18 AM. We arrived at piccadilly circus and then we went to the London dungeon.

The London dungeon was very interesting, you follow several dark ages of London’s history, like Jack the Ripper or the witch hunt. The actors who accompanied you through the dungeon and portrayed several protagonists of London’s contemporary history were extremely talented.

After that the sightseeing began. Mia planned a wonderful tour of London, we saw buckingham palace, the government’s buildings and many other sights.

We even went to a park where there were lots of animals like squirrels, ducks, pigeons, etc. All the animals were incredibly tame and the park was beautiful.

Afterwards, we took the tube back to Piccadilly circus, where we had several hours to move around freely. Many of us went to waterstones, others visited different shops.

Then we took the train back to Northampton. After that, not a lot  happened. Almost the whole girl’s caravan coughed and therefore didn’t get much sleep.

Day Ten

We had time to eat breakfest until 10 am because we had a day of. Until lunch many of us played games like „Uno“ or „catch“. A few of us prepared for playing „Pen and Paper“. Then Susi had the idea to drive to a garden so that we could go around. There were many animals like flamingos and chickens. The garden also had a forest full of bluebells. The view was fascinating walking around the garden. At about 5 pm we drove back to the nursery. There many of us played „police and thief“, „hide and seek“ and later „pen and paper“. It was a funny and beautiful day.

Day eleven

Around 8 AM we ate breakfast and started our day. We were going to Oxford today so we prepared ourselves and our bags for the journey. Lunch boxes were fast made and our bottles refilled so we could start our journey at around 10:15 AM towards the Oxford park and ride service. We arrived there at 11:30 AM and waited a bit for the bus that would take us closer to the city and garden which was our final destination. At 11:50 AM the bus finally arrived and we drove for the first time (at least for most of us) with a double decker bus. Around 12:45 PM we finally arrived at the garden. Saskia even told us a fun fact about it. Apparently Tolkien (the person who wrote „The Lord of the Rings“) got inspired here for his creatures called „Ents“. The garden was really beautiful with many trees, flowers, stone sculptures and mini lakes. It even got a river running past it and ducks who come really close to us. We walked around to our hearts content after which we went out to eat something. Luna had an idea of where we could go since she was in Oxford before and already tried the food there. We walked to „the baguette shop“ in a small alleyway. Surprisingly all of us (except our padagoges) ate something there. Since we got 5 pounds for lunch everyday when we went somewhere else than the Nursery it was always a bit hard to find something that fitted the bill. This baguette shop had an entire menu made of a baguette of panini, crisps of different flavours and a drink (can or bottle) for just 5 pounds (or 5,50 pounds if you got a bottle instead of a can). After all of us finally got rid of our growling stomachaches we went back to the garden to meet up with Saskia and Susi. The way back took place between 02:25 and 02:50 PM. While waiting a few of us used the free WiFi the garden had to offer to download new movies to watch in the evening or ate the leftovers of their lunch. After our padagoges arrived back from their walk to get food themselves two of us still wanted to go to one of the bookshops in Oxford. The rest of us stayed at the garden half an hour longer and afterwards went to the bookshop as well to meet up with the others. Soon afterwards we found some benches just outside a few other shops which we obviously also visited. Some got Oxford hoodies and jackets others got presents for their parents and some got stuff for themselves. We stayed a bit longer than we planned but at least we had a lot of fun. Exhausted from the long day we went to the nearest bus station and at 05:40 PM drove back to first the park and ride and then the Nursery in which we arrived at around 07:40 PM. Those of us still hungry ate the leftovers of Susi’s „Shepherd’s Pie“ and Lenz’s „Mac and Cheese“. Like almost every evening some played games like hide and seek while others prepared themselves to go to bed.

Day three to six

The third day (Visiting Lady Di)
We had breakfast at 8 am and then planned our day, including our visit to Lady Diana’s estate and the site where she was buried we started our journey at 3 pm. We spent around 5 hours exploring Lady Diana’s property and visiting the graveyard where she was laid to rest. After that, we went back to our caravan and Then, we returned for dinner.

The fourth day (Market Harborough)

We had breakfast again at 8am and we went back to our caravans at around 9am. Then, at 10am, we went to the market and finished around 3pm. After that, we packed up our things and sold plants to different people at different times throughout the day. When we weren’t selling, we walked around the city or just sat around. In the evening, we planned to go to the swimming pool, but it didn’t work out, so we will go tomorrow. And Philip is an awesome guy

The fifth day (Warner Brother Studios)

Today there was a group that watched the Harry Potter Marathon. During that, a group was swimming and at 4:00 p.m. a group went to the Harry Potter Studios, the original scenery was set up and you could get a lot of information, you can’t get in the Harry Potter movies or if you read it on the Internet,

The sixth day (Coronation)

Today we were at the coronation. One part of the group watched the coronation in Northampton, were they also met the Mayor and Mayorness of Northampton. The other part of the group went to London for the coronation.

DAY ONE AND TWO

DAY OF DRIVING

We drove for six hours by car to get to the ferry. Before we were allowed on the ferry, our car was searched. After that, we were able to board the ferry and took a two-hour ride to England. From there, it was still a five-hour drive to the nursery. We had noodles for dinner and then had some free time.

THE FIRST DAY

On the first day of our language trip, we had breakfast together at 8:00 am. After that, we divided tasks and created a list for shopping. Then, we went to a playground in Daventry (the twin town of Westerburg) and bought things. We discussed the activities for the next two weeks in a small group after lunch. The rest of the day was free time.

Day 11

Today we got up and ate breakfast as normal at 8 o’clock. After the breakfast a few of the girls started to pack up their stuff. At 10 o’clock we all drove to the supermarket to get things for the lunch and everyone could get some stuff for themselves with their own money. Around 12:30 p. m. the boys group stardet to cook burgers for lunch, after the lunch we cleaned up a few more things and then drove to the bowling center so we don’t just sit around an get bored. We played for an hour and then a few of the students got to Starbucks while the others still stayed at the bowling center and played billiard. Unlucky there was a situation and because of that we drove home earlier than expected. At home we all cleaned up the rest of the things and then got to bed early so we could get enough sleep for the big trip to Germany on the next day.

This morning we went to Northampton at about 10:00 am. There we all split up and went to a mall. At 2:00 pm we went back to the Nursery and the boys made rice pudding. Later in the evening a group went to bouldering. We were there for about 2 hours. Kevin and Jonah did better than expected and had fun on it. After that we went back and had dinner.

Day 9

As planned, we went to London for the second time today. This time we decided to visit a museum first and then have some free time in London.
Celine, Jorna and Mariella went to the British Library. Everyone else went to the National History Museum, after this Kevin and Aliana went to the Science Museum. In our free time, we all went out to eat, looked at shops, street musicians and the city. When we all arrived at our meeting point at the station entrance, we took the train and then the car back to Nobottle Nursery. Today we didn’t have anything cooked as the money for food had already been spent on London, but because we didn’t have anything to eat we had to go shopping again. In the evening we played some cards.

Day 8

Today, we decided to go to Oxford. We parked near the Westgate Mall, which served as a starting point for small-group explorations. Even in the parking lot, the students met some „interesting“ Oxford locals. The group of girls mostly used this opportunity to explore the city’s numerous shopping options. Meanwhile, our group of boys are looking for conversations with locals and wanted to give them cent coins disguised as „Deutsche Mark“. We educators, explored numerous historical buildings and parks during a walk through the old town. After a successful trip, Jonah, Paul, and Finn bought tickets for the second London trip at the train station. The day concluded with homemade pancakes and some group activitys.
