England block 16th

Today we went back to London. First we went to the British Museum and the Saints Museum. In the British Museum we saw the Rosetta Stone and went to the different departments with different cultures. A few of us ate muffins and had a drink while the others walked around the museum a bit. It was interesting to find out that parts of Egypt and other countries belonged to Great Britain. After everyone had looked at the museum, we went out and took the underground to the meeting point.

In the Science Museum the others learned something about medicine, which they found most exciting, and the history of airplanes and something about steam engines. And Saskia found out that she would never want to be an astronaut, because of the toilets and the food.

We waited for the others at the meeting point in front of Borough Market, but they then said we should come the 50 meters to them because Borough Market was closed. When we got to them we had to go back in the direction we came from. Then we drove to Piccadilly Circle and split up into groups. Our group wanted to go shopping. First we were hungry and went to McDonald’s. Then we went to Zara, then to Bershka and then to Primark. Because Sarah really wanted to go to Starbucks, we stopped briefly on the way to the meeting point. We then all met at the fountain and a few of us drove back to the caravans with Kevin and the rest did the Jack the Ripper tour.

We first walked through London to find where it was. When we found the starting point, we registered and waited for other people. When it started, we walked as far forward as possible so we could see as much as possible. The guy showed us several pictures of Jack the Ripper’s victims in the city with a projector and he told us lots of stories and went with us to the different places. This tour lasted about 1.5 hours. After that we drove straight back to the caravans and were home around midnight.
